Start with a 127-year-old heritage building, add a sleek, sexy 10-storey new loft building. What will follow is sure to redefine the height of fashionable living with an incredible modernization of space, shape and form. Freed Developments is incorporating a heritage factory with an ultra modern residential oasis. Art, design and history fused together to create The Fashion House Lofts in the heart of King West Village. The existing heritage structure will house fabulous retail shops right in the building. There will also be commercial work lofts for those who like to create where they live.

With Fashion House’s iconic 150-foot frontage on King Street, Freed Developments opted to celebrate King Street’s heritage as a fashion district. The project combines and connects the restoration of a silverplate historic building with a sleek new glass construction, that when completed, will house retail and restaurants on its ground level. By retaining 11 up-and-coming Canadian fashion designers to create stunning installations on the landings, the condominium building is transformed, in the words of Peter Freed, into a “modern canvas for personal design expression.”

A sky-park complete with a swimming pool promises to be the height of fashion. Dashing lipstick-red window coverings on the building’s exteriors (all of which shine a crisp, clean white inside) complete the fashion-forward design statement.
